Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
