Football Expert Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
