England’s men’s team will embark on their 2028 European Championship journey at the the home of Manchester City, provided that they attain the expected passage for a competition staged throughout the majority of the UK and the Irish Republic.

Manchester City’s home ground has not staged an Three Lions match since eight years ago, when the Turkish team were overcome 2-1 in a friendly, but is highly likely to host the England side for their first match on June 10, 2028.

The Republic of Ireland are due to play their opening match at the Dublin Arena and the Scottish team would play similarly at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.

Each host nation’s squad will participate in the preliminary stage; two guaranteed slots will be set aside for any that miss out on the tournament through that route.

Locations and Elimination Phase

Villa Park and Spurs’ ground finalize the nine tournament locations. All will hold at least one elimination game, with the quarterfinal matches played at every host’s main arena.

The qualification draw will be staged in Belfast, which was excluded as a host city last year when it became clear the Belfast stadium could not be renovated in time, on a date in late 2026.
